  Something that may have been overlooked by the Australian Royal Commission

  i was reading a post made by a female jw on another forum that was answering a question regarding under age baptism and underage girls speaking to elders regarding sexual matters.

  her answer was sickening and it got me wondering whether the rc has overlooked a very serious problem.this is a link to her commentshttp://en.allexperts.com/q/jehovah-s-witness-1617/2015/8/baptism-1919.htmdid the rc ask for a list of victims or underage persons who had been subjected to a judicial committee?given that there is a practice of baptising children and young teenagers, i don't doubt that a number of them would have been subjected to their own jc in regards to sexual issues.

  we have even heard of cases where young females have been raped but have been found guilty of fornication after a jc.the only files given to the rc was those of perpetrators.the watchtower would have kept records of underage persons who have been subject to a jc in relation to sexual matters.

  There are a handful of cases being handled by abuse attorneys for JW/former JW victims when elements like this are part of the case. In one California case involving a minor, a video was made of the sexual abuse and shared with the BOE. A police report was never made and in litigation those elders now face criminal charges of viewing child pornography.

  I would suspect that with the number of advocates working with the ARC regarding CSA that these issues and scenarios have been thoroughly covered. The ARC may have and most likely did come across these scenarios during the depositions of thousands of victim/survivors.

  Nonetheless, good point and good thinking. I will pass along your sentiments to those I know directly working with the ARC.

  Need confirmation: WT bought an entire mountain in China to mine the granite needed for new WT HQ

  someone asked for a second source on this, so i'm putting this out there to those who may have visited the new wt hq lately and know it to be true.

  i had read from others on the ex-jw subreddit that had taken a tour recently at wt hq, that they had been shown photos of a mountain in china, and told that this is where all of the granite is being mined from and shipped over to new york to use at the site of the new wt hq.

  apparently, it was cheaper for them to do this and have the local brothers in china mine it, then having to by tons upon tons of granite here in the usa, even wholesale.

  China is the greatest exporter of Granite to the United States. When you go to vendors anywhere in the US, chances are the slabs have come from China. Costs would not be driven down even if it was possible to purchase a Chinese quarry(or mountain) and have your own labor force(JWs with quarry experience in all phases? NOT LIKELY) preparing the stone for export.

  The story as presented is complete rubbish.

  More likely, WT purchased the equivalent of a "mountain" in granite from a US vendor.(WT could easily set themselves up as a vendor) And like many stories coming from the R&F it has been embellished and amounts to a fairy tale.

  the truth, the org is the truth...ummm...let's think about that...i was thinking that the bible is the truth & what it does is that it reveals the truth about you...the more you read the bible the more you may see yourself & your actions.

  you may be a person who judges people, the bible will show you what's wrong with that...viola, another truth revealed about you.

  you may be a prideful person, you read a story in the bible about that...again, it's another truth revealed about you.

  I married me Ex Spouse because I had sexual intercourse before marriage with him. I believed by marrying him my sin would be glossed over. Instead what it led to was a 16 year marriage of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Not until I saw first hand the emotional and physical abuse by him to our daughter did I start to think outside the box. This is a common story for JW women. More and more of us are breaking free.

  I am losing

  i haven't posted anything for a bit, but wanted to express how i am losing this battle.

  it has been over 3 years now since i woke up about watchtower.

  the battle that i am talking about is the tug of war with my wife (i adore her immensely), watchtower is winning, she simply will not give in to my so-called negative thoughts about the religion that we are in.

  protesters shut down a trump rally.

  massive numbers of people are out in chicago and have shut his event down.

  there were scuffles inside the event.. despite his lame attempt to pretend the violence he instigates is nothing to do with him it's clear that it is as the cnn quotes during the last event showed only too well.. this doesn't happen at anyone else's events - candidates have even given up the stage to protesters, not called for them to be beaten and punched.. trump is an ugly person and this is just a small taste of what a future under his rule would be like.. shame on the gop for not kicking his ass out.

  Slimboy, I like the way you are thinking, but I tend to go by the math. You do realize it is strongly in Trump's favor right now? He is going to lose Ohio, but Kasich is way too far behind for it to make a difference if he takes it. Trump looks like he will take Florida easy. That is going to put him far ahead of even #2 Cruz. There are going to be mass outcries for Rubio to drop out after Florida, then it will be Kasich as Cruz gets first or second place finishes. Trump will have the math on his side I think if Rubio and Kasich fold. If Rubio and Kasich stay in, they will suck up delegates and there is a minimal chance at a brokered convention. But in all painful honesty, Trump has odds and delegates in his favor. I've said it before, the GOP can have Trump or a future. What we are witnessing is the demise, once and for all, of the GOP. Sorry Republicans and Trump supporters, and no it is not Obama's fault. It is yours, for fucking up due process and obstructing Obama at every turn. Now sit back and watch your control of Congress disappear. Good time to rethink your party affiliation.

  Exactly what talesin said. In my line of work I am surrounded by 8 to 16 years of university graduates. Oh yes they are brilliant in many ways, but some of them are frighteningly ignorant in many other ways even begging for advice from my poorly educated self. Street smarts (or life skill smarts or whatever else you want to call them) can't be bought or taught from a book. Although in my humble opinion, the more you read the wiser you will become. Not just the useless trivia stuff either. Literally, life saving skills. Also, you will discover that the more intelligent you become, they less you will realize you know. ;) Good luck! I think you're brilliant.
